How it went setting up the studio

Today we set up the studio as it is the day before out shoot. We had to start an hour late due to the group before finishing behind schedule which we thought would be an issue however in the end it turned out well and we managed to get our first set built in time. When we arrived we got straight to work and were presented with 4 huge wooden slabs of would which would be each wall of our set. Our first set was going to be the background with all the feminist slogans on which can be seen on an earlier blog post and we had to paint them all by hand. We all started off by drawing on the slogans with crayons where we wanted them to be so we could get the size of each one right and fill in any extra space with random images. Once everything was drawn out we began painting everything on by hand. We used black and pink paint as they are the two primary colours we decided to use throughout our whole video. 

This was our first set they we built today and we got the band in to get a few pictures for our digipack. As you can see our whole set was hand painted and took about an hour and a half to complete.

Today we did our photoshoot of our band which will go towards our social media account and possibly towards our album cover. We booked the photography studio and borrow one of their cameras to get high quality pictures in order to make the photos look professional and the sort of thing a real band would take. We brought in props and got our performers to dress up in the sort of thing they will be wearing on the shoot day. we got them to model in different positions to get a wide variety of shots and give us a lot of options when choosing what to use for our social media account. I thought our performers were amazing during the shoot and have shown they are perfect for our song. They seem to have very natural chemistry and this was highlighted by how into the shoot they got and the modelling positions they got into without even being told to by us. We felt it was important to highlight that Amelie is the lead singer so in a few of the the shots she is shown to be above them or in front of them to stand out however our song is about girl power so the majority of pictures they are all seen as together and one like they are standing for the same thing as one.
